E1p1i1p1h1y1l1l1u1m1 Posted July 5, 2021 Posted July 5, 2021 This is called a "causeway" by the local government. The "causeway" is natural, not man-made. It consists of stones and is pretty substantial when Lake Michigan is low. https://goo.gl/maps/VujAEUtXjvQHhfVp6 Right now it is mostly underwater because Lake Michigan is high. https://www.co.door.wi.gov/1036/Cana-Island-Camera What I'm wondering is Is the causeway a tombolo even though it is made of rock? Is Cana Island a tied island, a tidal island, or both? (Lake Michigan doesn't have tides, but the lake gets alternatively deep and shallow over the course of so many years.) For reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tied_island https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tidal_island https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tombolo
