Funding for international Students in NY...help

I'm a Canadian citizen who will be attending Columbia's school of arts in September. I'm excited about starting classes but all this fundraising is freaking me out. I've started the loan appliation process and I'm willing to swallow the $44k in tuition plus school fees and living expenses but I'm hunting for scholarship/grant opportunities. I received a small 10k a year fellowship from the school which is helpful but a drop in the bucket when i'm looking at the whole picture. Anyway I've come across a lot of amazing scholarship opportunities until I read the dreaded lines...for US citizens or permenant residents only....Game over! Any suggestions for a Canadian in the US who wants free money for school???
