Here's my profile: Undergrad Institution : Top 5 U.S. liberal arts college Major(s): Economics & MathematicsGPA: 3.98 (4.0 major) Type of Student: White male Courses taken and taking (all As): Calculus I-III, Linear Algebra I-II, Mathematical Proofs, Topology, Real Analysis I-II, Group Theory, Rings, Algebraic Geometry, ODEs, Combinatorics, Probability, Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, Econometrics, Financial Economics GRE General Test: Q: 170 (96%)V: 167 (98%)W: 5.5 (98%) GRE Mathematics Subject Test: Taken in October Programs Applying: Statistics Research Experience: ML research project sophomore year summer, math & stats REU junior year summer (submitted paper for publication), honors thesis in progress.Pertinent Activities or Jobs: Tutor/TA Letters of Recommendation: 2 from research advisors, 1 from math professor What schools should I aim for? bayessays Posted November 9, 2021 Share Posted November 9, 2021 Can't get much better than a profile like this, so you can definitely apply anywhere including places like Stanford. No need to apply outside the top 20 unless you really like a certain program (like UT-Austin for Bayesian statistics). I think schools like Duke and CMU are good targets.
