Haven't seen any related topic this application season. Anyone who is also applying for criminology and criminal justice programs? How is your application going?

Same here! Sending in two today to FSU and UCI. Also applied to the JSP program at Berkeley and some Sociology programs with strong Criminology faculty. Anyone have good ideas on when we should expect to hear back? Crossing my fingers for us all!

Only applied to four programs this cycle. My focus is corrections, but also environmental crime. I applied to John Jay, Rutgers and CU Boulder with corrections oriented research goals and UH Manoa for environmental criminology. Not super optimistic, but stranger things have happened.

I applied to 5 criminology programs and 2 sociology programs that have faculty with crim backgrounds. I have been trying to not check my application status every day.

Good luck and stay strong, all!

My interests are interdisciplinary, but I've applied to four criminology PhD programs: University of Albany, George Mason University, University of Cincinnati, and Temple University. Outside criminology, I applied to seven clinical psych (all rejected), two dev psych (interviews to both), two social work (pending), one counseling (pending), and one public health (pending).

Has anyone heard anything from any of those programs? GMU told me decisions would be out by early February. I'm getting antsy about Temple and Albany!

I have applied to the Criminal Justice PhD program at Temple for Fall 22. Anyone else?

I’ve applied to the same program at Temple! May I ask what your research interests are?

And you sound like a fellow southerner. Best of luck to you and everyone else.

Congratulations on your interview invite! I'm dying to hear anything from anyone. I've worked with some people who are currently at FSU and both said that they heard back really quickly, here's to hoping that timeline applies to this year too :) What are your focus areas?

Mine is juvenile delinquency, neighborhood effect, school and crime. How about you?

Those are great topics. I'm looking to focus on victimology, hate crimes, and legal regulation of gender and sexuality. A lot of my background with those areas has revolved around minors, so we may cross paths there :)

Hello,

I applied to the program as well and still haven’t heard either. I am getting anxious. A friend of mine got accepted on January 25th and now the person on the results on the 28th. So could it be rolling admission?

Definitely could be rolling admissions. That would make sense, considering my third recommender waited until the second-to-last day to submit his letter. For any UAlbany folks, I got a personalized email today letting me know I'm second on the waitlist.

Congrats on UAlbany. If Temple is rolling admit, best I can hope for is a long waitlist spot. Reason being I submitted the application in October and all letters were in by then.

So my third letter of recommendation didn’t get submitted until the second week in December, and I emailed multiple faculty members and no word yet. I am figuring that if it was a no, they would have said so!

Accepted with funding to FSU and rejected from UAlbany. I still haven’t heard back from TU, UIC, and UC, although I’ve already seen acceptances on gradcafe ?

Also accepted with funding to FSU! Haven't heard back from anywhere else yet. Congratulations! Are you planning on going to the campus preview?
