DJLamar Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I'm completely sure this guy has published this year, but the latest paper on his site is 2009. Same thing with the guy that I'm doing an internship for this Summer. Kind of annoying...

OH YEAH Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 You're a computer scientist: http://www.informatik.uni-trier.de/~ley/db/

fuzzylogician Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 (edited) I wish they would update their website photos! How am I supposed to extrapolate from a college graduation picture from 30 years ago to a 50yr old man I need to talk to at a conference? Edited June 22, 2010 by fuzzylogician

Same thing with the guy that I'm doing an internship for this Summer. Kind of annoying... Ha! A measly year? I found a lab with a fifth-year PhD student whose bio and picture hadn't even been added to the website yet. If you want recently published papers, just do a search in the appropriate literature index.
UnlikelyGrad Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 I wish they would update their website photos! How am I supposed to extrapolate from a college graduation picture from 30 years ago to a 50yr old man I need to talk to at a conference? I agree!! When I was arranging my first visit to MyU, the secretary asked whom I was interested in talking to. My #1 choice was a guy whose picture showed black hair streaked with gray--looked like he was in his late 40's. When I actually met him, his hair was completely white--he was a year away from retirement and wasn't taking students any more. I did get to TA for him, and concluded that he would have been an AWESOME person to work for. Wish I'd gone to grad school 5 years ago... Ah well, my current advisor is pretty cool. I try not to gripe too much.
Halfpasser11 Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Tell me about it! I was so excited to TA with my advisor because he was the only one teaching the classes in my area of study. After speaking with him I learn that he has been moved to 100% extension and research for the last 5 years and no longer teaches. I am still excited to work with him, but sheesh...after 5 years you think they would change the freaking website.
