What is the most motivating way to introduce Laplace transforms on an Engineering Mathematics course?

Recommended Posts

Are there any practical applications of Laplace transform? I would not use Laplace transforms to solve first, second-order ordinary differential equations as it is much easier by other methods even if it has a pulse forcing function. I am looking for examples which have a real impact.

How can Laplace transforms be introduced so that students are motivated to learn?
