Hi everyone, I'm a 2nd year undergrad lurker and am interested in pursuing CS research and grad school. I'm not sure if there's a better place to post this, but I was accepted into a research program at CMU and a position as a student researcher at MIT. The program at CMU is more structured but less in-line with my research interests (albeit still relevant). The position at MIT is less structured so I'm unsure if I'm able to conduct solid research, but the topic exactly what I want to pursue in grad school. I already went through onboarding with MIT, which costs the PI money, so I'm also worried that if I renege on the MIT position I'll be ruining a possible future connection. Otherwise, money is not a concern between the two positions (I'm supported via scholarship).
I was wondering if anyone had advice on what I should do?
