Hey,

Wondering what you would think of my chances at admits to an MSCS program:

Undergraduate Honors Program at a large state school, top-25 CS, top-25 Math

3.91 GPA (B.S. Mathematics & International Studies)

800/700/6.0 GRE (Math/Verbal/Analytical)

Research experience in several applied mathematics research projects (coding) as well as significant coursework in CS (Java/C++/Algorithms & Data Structures). However, no research experience in CS itself.

Worked with the head of the economics department on an undergrad Honors thesis in Economics.

Asking for LORs from the the aforementioned department head, a bioengineering prof for whom I coded for a summer REU, as well as possibly a Chinese CS prof this semester.

Will be taking CS courses in Chinese at top Chinese university this fall.

Given my lack of experience in formal CS, will this matter for all of the top schools? Is there any way I could change this in a semester? (I do have an option of part-time online coursework through a top-5 school) Is there any tolerance in the admission for non-traditional applications?

Anyone been in a similar situation?
