Tahuds Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 This is my first and hopefully last application season, and I'm freaking out about the personal statement portion of YDS's application for the MAR. I currently attend a small liberal arts college in NE Georgia and while I'm of a minority religious tradition here (Jewish) I don't think that's going to be much of a advantage as I try and gain entry to a divinity school. I have no idea what to say for my introduction, so can anyone give me some pointers?
ddsdevil Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 What school in NE GA? I went to Emmanuel College. And to answer your question I really have no idea. I'm sure highlighting that you are Jewish will be a plus at a school like Yale. Good luck!

This isn't meant to sound mean, but I would suggest searching the forum and reading the countless bits of advice that people have already written. If you have specific questions thereafter, we may be able to help you a little more efficiently. Thanks4Downvoting 1
Postbib Yeshuist Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 And yes, your Jewishness will "help." Diversity is key in programs like this, so applicants are screened for what backgrounds they can bring (along with many other factors).
