Hi All,

When do I have to take GRE exam so universities receive my score about 10th December? I want to take the exam in Germany.

ETS, at least in the USA, is notoriously slow in sending out official reports.

I'd suggest 4 to 5 weeks before 10 December, i.e., around 1 November.

Bist du ein Deutscher/eine Deutsche? Ich studiere Germanistik.

Good luck,

John

thanks for your reply. I am not from Germany.

I should add that I do not want to take paper-based GRE and I want to take computer-based GRE. Still I should take the exam 5 weeks before 10th December?

Are you planning to take the NEW GRE format?

ETS has announced that the new foramt of the GRE will be launched on August 2011,so if you want to take the new GRE,it will be available form August 1st.However if you want to take the old GRE "just like me",you should prepeare to take it before August 1st.

Yes, I was referring to the computer-based test, which is the only form of the GRE available here in the USA.

You DO receive your Verbal and Quantitative scores immediately, right on the computer screen. I believe it is the Analytical Writing score that holds up the process. It's at least three weeks, up to five I'm told, after you take the test that you actually receive your letter in the mail (with all three scores).
