pseudo_stat Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I didn't find a probability course in your description, which might be a prerequisite for most statistics phd programs. Did any of your math courses cover that? If yes and you have a strong recommendation letter from a stat prof, I would personally think 30-50 schools would have a chance. (I am also from an econ background and applying for stat phd programs, and that's what I have researched for) btw, any interest in quantitative programs at business schools? e.g. Purdue (Quantitative Methods), U Miami (Management Science), U Notre Dame (Analytics), they also have some professors doing stat/ml
bayesiancausal Posted January 18, 2023 Author Posted January 18, 2023 thank you for reply. I think introductory statistics, stat. for econ. and mathematical stat. courses combined cover for the probability theory even thogh they are not perfectly fit for the probability theory. In addition, I'm interested in Purdue (Quantitative Methods) but did not apply for this term. (I only applied for purdue stat ph.d. course) is there any chance that I can get offer frlm the course from purdue univ.?
