Decision releasing questions

Hello! 

I noticed that someone had posted that they got an interview for a program I am also waiting on, but they seemed to be the only one. I have 2 questions:

• Are decisions usually released by applicant last name? My last name is pretty far down in the alphabet.
• Is it ok to email to ask when interview notifications should be expected?

Best advice is they know how to reach if they need to, unless you want to get a rejection out of the way.
