  1. I got an email yesterday that funds opened up for a TA-ship teaching Italian (my second language). The professor who set it up just referred to it as a discussion of the possibility of me teaching in the Italian department, but my program director called it an informal interview. I'm kinda hooking on the word "interview" and I am very nervous! What should I expect? Any tips?

  3. Was accepted to my dream program, yeehaw. I was put at the top of the list for a stipend, so if someone declines the offer, I get the TA-ship or grader position. How likely is it that this happens? I ask because I also got a job offer for a job I could technically do during my PhD for living expenses (no tuition expenses). I don't want to accept it until I know that I can do it for sure
  4. Hello! Is anyone here currently enrolled in an SILC PhD program, or attending in the fall? I accepted my offer for the CCL program this week and would love to connect with anyone else.
  5. Anyone else going to be in the School of International Languages and Cultures this fall? I'll be in the CCL program
  6. Anybody else apply?? Has anyone heard anything?? My potential advisor said she was thinking of me the other day and told me to keep her posted, but I have heard NOTHING
  7. Hello! Anyone else apply to the CCL program at ASU?
  8. Hey guys! Anyone else apply to ASU’s CCL program this year?
  9. Thanks, everyone! Hoping for some good news today for myself and all of you!
  10. Has anyone heard back from ND’s Medieval Studies program yet? Or are there any current students who could provide insight?
  11. rejected from the notre dame history program. there were 146 candidates for 8 spots. i knew just history wasn’t the best fit, but damn, still hurts.
  12. It seems people have already gotten notifications for interviews for the ND History program, but the Medieval Institute hasn't released anything yet... Does this mean that I should probably count the History program out? Does it take longer for committees to discuss overlapping applications?
  13. Has anyone heard from Notre Dame's Medieval Studies PhD program?
  14. Probably an ask of desperation at this point, but does applying to 2 programs at the same school impact when I might hear back or when an application gets discussed?
  15. Thanks! It also wasn't in my subfield (they would be American/Latin American, and I'm obviously a medievalist), so I'm hoping that's the reason/the kicker.
  16. Someone got an interview at ND's history program so either it's over for me or some are still coming out... ?
  17. Thought someone got a medieval studies rejection... turns out I can't read/don't know what year it is.
  18. manifesting some good news for all of us today!
  19. oh, it was a meme reference lmfao
  20. You mean someone would do that? Go on the internet and tell lies?
  21. Hello! I noticed that someone had posted that they got an interview for a program I am also waiting on, but they seemed to be the only one. I have 2 questions: Are decisions usually released by applicant last name? My last name is pretty far down in the alphabet. Is it ok to email to ask when interview notifications should be expected?
  22. Are admissions/interview emails/etc. released alphabetically?
  23. Someone got a Notre Dame History interview (unless they were lying in the results page) pardon me while I scream.
  24. Well, historically, this will be the interview notification week for ND, so here's to a week of being a nervous wreck
