I couldn't find any thread specifically on the physics phd side in general to, yknow, wait it out. especially when physics tends to send out decisions so late. I know i've been trawling through gradcafe unable to sleep but I just need place to chat about this whole thing, vent about the process and the decisions with anyone else who going through the same.

just got rejected from uchicago. I feel super devastate, it was one of the only schools I really allowed myself to consider going to as I didn't want to get my hopes up. how is everyone else dealing with rejections if you've experienced any so far? telling myself rejection is natural I'll definitely experience rejection while at grad school it doesn't mean I'm not good enough (even though I definitely feel like I'm not good enough for uchicago since I was rejected lmao)

I've seen physicsgre but there's never any discussion, just ppl posting stats and profiles, which serves its purpose, but i'd ratheryknow, talk about it. Currently 3a/3r right now and feeling so strange yet excited!

When I checked the application portal of Northeastern University today, I noticed there was a new text above the application checklist:

"Students are considered to be conditionally admitted until the below checklist is complete. Students must also satisfy any additional provisions or conditions of their acceptance if stated on the official decision letter or college admissions website. Please arrange to complete your checklist and meet any other additional requirements prior to enrolling at Northeastern University. If you have already made appropriate arrangements to complete your file, and your checklist is still incomplete, please be patient because it can take several weeks to update your status. Otherwise, if anything else is needed, the University will contact you. Visit the University catalog’s website here for more information on this topic."

This wasn't there 2 days ago. Does this fact have any significance regarding application status?
