Harvard MDE fall 2023 thread

Hi everyone,

I've applied for Harvard MDE fall 23 program. I thought it best to start a thread so that all us fellow applicants can benefit from our collective knowledge. Wondering if anyone got an interview or any update after the initial application?

From what I have read in the past threads, people do get accepted without interviews(a lot of them). Almost seemed like it is only a handful of people that actually get interviewed, and mostly international ones. Also, my slot is of mere 10 minutes. So I am assuming it is for language and personality testing or clarification of some sort. Irrespective, lets hope for the best. All the best to you. Lets keep each other posted here! Have you applied to any other places?

10mins is really short indeed! I read about that too. It seems to be a very general conversation about work etc. All the best for the interview. When is it scheduled for?

I've also applied for CMU MIIPS, and uPenn IPD. How about you?

Thank You. The interview went okay. I am unsure how to rate it. Generic conversation around the essays I wrote. It was casual, conversational and mostly from stuff very specific to my SOP. Really unsure what to make of it. 

 

Other programs I applied to : GeorgiTech MS HCI, UW MHCID, Stanford Design program, Berkeley Mdes, Northwestern. EVERYONE responds only in March

That's great @Innovationatlarge. I'm sure it must have gone well. Let's hope for the best and keep each other updated as we hear more from MDE! Is there any change on the status of your MDE applications on the online portal?

No updates yet.. Heard that they released results on March 1 last year, best wishes to everyone!!

Nup! I Haven't heard anything. We should expect to hear this week I guess. Although, the website first week of march. Could be next week too. Fingers crossed!

Do people get accepted without interviews? I know someone mentioned it above in the thread but any more idea about it? Do we know people who got accepted without interviews last year?
