zh_awk Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 I've been waitlisted (received notice this past Friday) and the program is my top choice. However, I imagine this is the case for the vast majority of folks who applied/have been given offers at this stage of the process. Has anyone here ever actually turned down at offer from Harvard? I'm trying to gauge my chances of getting off this thing, and do know from their email last week that they don't rank the list. I guess I just can't imagine anyone saying no to a fully funded PhD offer from one of the best programs/universities out there, likely based on the prestige, which bums me out - I'm invested in going primarily based off of research fit with my POI and would be gutted to lose out on the chance to work with her. Would love to hear from folks who have applied to this particular program (the Ed school's PhD), but also Harvard doctoral programs in general. Please give me some hope that my dream isn't dead!
