Buddy Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Hey Guys, I was reading the requirementsand appliers must have a cumulative GPA of above a 3.0 during the last 2 years of undergraduate work. For the CUM GPA section on the application do I put my cumulative for the last 2 years or for all the years I've been at the university? It might be a stupid question, but it can really make a big difference. I'm a senior with 2 semesters left (applying in January) and right now I have an overall 2.997 cumulative GPA. Freshmen year was completely atrocious, but I during my past 2 years I've averaged about a 3.3. If anyone could answer my question I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! -Buddy
schoolpsych_hopeful Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 (edited) Unless they explicitly ask for your Junior/Senior GPA, you should put your cumulative GPA for all 4 years. Your GPA is so close to 3.0, I wouldn't be too worried about cut-offs. I wonder if you should just round up to 3.00, most online apps that I've seen ask you to only use 2 decimal places instead of 3 (example: I have a 3.549 GPA, which I report as 3.55). Don't take my word for it though, see what others have to say about it. Couldn't hurt to contact the programs you're applying to. Edited October 12, 2010 by schoolpsych_hopeful
DariaIRL Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Cumulative GPA is for all years of school (at same institution). Last 2 yrs GPA is your most recent 2 yrs of study. Major GPA is the GPA for the courses applied towards a major (usually broken out for you on the transcript).
Buddy Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Alright. Thanks for the clarification guys!
