tasteomycheese Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hey guys, I'm a Master's applicant to Columbia's EE/CE program. Like many of the Columbia applicants on the bulletin, I received notice of admission via Columbia's website/E-mail around 3/3. I've noticed that a few people received their postal packages more than a week ago, and I have yet received mine. What could this mean? Since we were accepted at around the same time, could this delay be attributed to a possible funding offer?
maa Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Are you an international applicant? If you are, then it might be a reason for delayed mail. Some schools send all mails through US postal service which takes few weeks to reach the destination. For example, one school sent me a document through normal postal service and it took almost 5 weeks to reach me. I am afraid if they send my I-20 over normal mail, I might miss my visa deadline.
pointedears Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 As far as I know, the i-20 is ALWAYS sent by priority mail(mostly FedEx). It is because they need confirmation on receipt of the form.
tasteomycheese Posted March 23, 2008 Author Posted March 23, 2008 Nope, I'm a domestic student. It's been more than 3 weeks since my initial acceptance and still no mail. sigh
