writing bio for dept. website

I am trying to decide what to write about myself to put on my department's website, but it is a little intimidating, especially since I am just starting out and my research interests aren't as clearly defined as other people's. Anyone have any experience with this or advice on the topic?

just make something up and throw it in there. this (what you put on the site) isn't going to be the golden ruler to measure your future leaps and progress. but make sure you throw in some big words to scare the undergrad folks.. hehe

I am still at the very beginning of my stuff, so mine is pretty basic, and based on our department's template. Here it is:

MA/PhD Candidate, _______ University..."

I think this is enough. Some of the other first years have more detailed bios but many of them already have MAs.

I just looked at other students' websites that were already online and followed their lead.

Mostly we just talk about our interests and give a link to a personal website where we have our full CV and publications. But, I'm sure that changes from department to department.
