eml1234 Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I'm trying to decide whether or not I should provide an explanation for the one "W" on my transcript. I have a legitimate explanation (some family stuff and health reasons) but I don't want to seem like I am making excuses. I am taking the class I withdrew from this next semester. Also, the rest of the grades for that particular semester aren't too bad (Bs), and I have one other semester with way worse grades (Bs and Cs), so I'm afraid that if I provide an explanation for this one semester, the admissions committee will wonder what happen in the other semester. Will one "W" make or break an application? And will providing an explanation for the "W" draw more attention to the semester with far worse grades? Thanks in advance.
waddle Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Will one "W" make or break an application? No. You don't need to talk about it.
