accountingphdhopeful Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I've applied for a bunch of Accounting PhD programs and I can't seem to find anyone on this forum who has applied for an Accounting PhD as well. I've heard about the Accounting PhD shortage, is it REALLY that scarce? Lightirina 1
hedgequant Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I don;t know if you've checked out the Urch.com forums, but their Business PhD program has a number of accounting folks with tons of information

Reeyarn Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 me too. I've applied to 10 universities for a PhD in Accounting. Most of them had a deadline of January 15th and I'm still waiting...
psi456 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Per Urch.com here is the list of schools where people have heard anything: Wisconsin, Alabama, Texas AM, Harvard, Illinois, Duke, Cornell, Emory, South Carolina, WUSTL Olin, UT-Austin, UNC, Missouri, Arizona, NYU, Bentley, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Iowa, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Yale, Stanford, Michigan, MIT, Berkley, Arkansas, Kansas, USC, Southern Florida, Chicago, Indiana, Central Florida, Florida State, Temple, Northwestern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Boston University, and UMASS. I've applied to two of these, I've only heard from one for what its worth.
hedgequant Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I know the assistant dean at UT-Austin and he confirmed to me that 2 Accounting offers had been made and they were looking for 2 more, so if you have not heard from them it is unlikely they are still an option.
