Hello All,

Has anyone here applied for the 2024 EdLD cohort at HGSE? If so, I would hear all about your application experience. Additionally, if you are a current HGSE EdLD candidate, or have been through this application process, could you please share your experience, as well as the timeline?

The waiting game is never easy! Thank you so much! Best of luck!

I applied.  I am not sure if my essay was my best work.  I generally don't struggle with selling myself, but there was so much to say it was hard to find the words.  Additionally, I have had an incredibly important fall, and as important as this opportunity is to me, my students always come first and I try to prioritize my advocacy as well.

I applied! Application was pretty straightforward, I thought. Essays are always tricky to use so few words to try to give a full picture of who you are as a person/candidate.. Fingers crossed we all hear something soon - I'm figuring it'll be end of next week, at best? But I'll still check all of these feeds daily in the meantime LOL

I applied Harvard, Penn, GW, and VCU.... A wide variety but all of the programs have their one unique thing that makes them interesting, you know? Harvard is definitely top choice though!!

Best of luck! Have you heard back from the other schools? Also, historically it looks like we should hear back from HGSE regarding interviews next Friday, I think.

Thanks!! I got accepted to GW - they have rolling admissions. Penn and VCU have 2/1 deadlines so I don't expect to hear anything from them anytime soon. The waiting is possibly harder than the application LOL

Fingers crossed we both hear (good) news next week!!

@LCat123 Did you get the impression that an interview is required to get into EdLD? I was not asked to interview, so I'm assuming I'm a no. 😭

Basically yes it's required. HGSE's official stance is that not getting an interview isn't a straight denial, but historically they haven't accepted people that they haven't interviewed.  I wasn't invited for an interview this year either.

Thank you @KellyKat!!!

What a bummer for us both. Oh, well. I figured I was a longshot as a 20-year teacher and not a mover and shaker in ed reform. Good luck to you!

15 years here.  Advocate for Neuroinclusive classrooms.  My recent resume is strong, but I have a history of serious educational struggles from when I was younger.  Perhaps I will apply again at some point in the future.
