hi! i am interested in interfaith chaplaincy, particularly prison chaplaincy, and got into union too (same package!). i also want to get a phd in a humanities discipline (not religion) but would love to be a professor and chaplain simultaneously. are you planning on visiting union? would love to connect  

i'm also waiting on hds after my interview last week, expecting decisions to be released this week. their aid is supposedly better from union's so i'm holding out hope...

i do think, though, between uchicago and union, this type of ministry you're interested in might be better nurtured in the latter. i can dm you my reasoning for this if you want!

totally hear you on all of this! i think union makes sense for the way that it brands itself in terms of the activism/field work arm of things, whereas chicago really brands itself as highly academic. one small thing i will note is that union DOES have a mandator core christian curriculum, whereas chicago does not. would love to read a dm with your thoughts!

i toured union in the fall and it doesn't look like i'll be able to make it to accepted students day, but will def let you know if that changes1
