DeoTank Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Hey, I didn't see a thread, so I'm starting one. I have only applied to IU Bloomington for a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, but I have not received any update so far...
Infinity203 Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Finally found someone in Geological Sciences. I am also from India and applied to the University of Rochester only, but haven't heard anything from them. DeoTank 1
DeoTank Posted February 12, 2024 Author Posted February 12, 2024 Hey man! What are you specializing in? On a side note, heard from the Grad contact at IU Bloomington that they release their decisions between Late-Feb and mid-April.
Infinity203 Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 Hey mate!!! Glad to know that you have received an email from the Grad Coordinator. I am looking forward to exploring paleomagnetic as well as magnetic norms of extraterrestrial samples as well as bits of rocks/sediments.
Infinity203 Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 What are your areas of specialization and what are you hoping to explore as a graduate student? looking forward to your response. Would you be ok to share your institute name (if it works for you)?
DeoTank Posted February 12, 2024 Author Posted February 12, 2024 That's great! I am an archaeologist and would like to work on topics concerning geoarchaeological applications such as micromorphology and geochemistry to better understand the human-environment relationship, particularly in the Pleistocene. I have a Masters in archaeology from Deccan College, Pune if that's what you are asking Infinity203 1
Infinity203 Posted February 12, 2024 Posted February 12, 2024 That's cool!!!! Well. good luck with the application and I hope, you will soon receive positive news from the committee. Good luck!!! DeoTank 1
