Hey, I didn't see a thread, so I'm starting one. I have only applied to IU Bloomington for a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences, but I have not received any update so far...

still no update from NYU for arch at least...my POI told me they would contact for interviews in late Jan-Early Feb so still hopeful about my chance

That's great! WashU was one of the options I was thinking of applying to and even had contacted a professor there (for archaeology) but ultimately decided not to because there was no guarantee of funding and it is quite expensive

Hey didn't see a thread for fall 2023 admissions so started an one. Have applied to only one program at NYU as it was the only department where my research interests could align. What about you guys? How's it going?

I also got my rejection letter today. While the POI I had contacted prior had said that she has 1 position, the competition this year was going to be really tough. Congrats to all who got selected!

Not yet, I mailed the contact person and she said that they will be sending confirmations after mid-Feb

I am also done with my application process. I've applied to UC San Diego and Uni of Texas Austin, both for anthropological archaeology. These were the only Unis where I felt I could do Geoarchaeology as a part of anthropology as the other options were in Earth Sciences. I also have a question, I am an international student and had to give TOEFL where I scored 101. Is that a good score? I know that I meet the score requirements for both Unis, just curious

Hello guys, I am applying to anthropological archaeology PhD programs for fall 2021. I want to specialize in the quaternary studies, especially pleistocene archaeology. I am working on my writing sample now as I have done my education up to my Masters(will graduate in july 2021) in India where we don't have written assignments as a part of our course only tests. I have also started working on my SOP and truth be told, it's a daunting task. Best of luck to all of you guys and I hope that all of us get admitted to the programs we are aiming for
