Just received another interview invite from CUNY sph, anyone have any tips for interviews? (I’m sorry if it sounds like I’m bragging, I’m actually SUPER nervous and hoping for some tips, thanks in advance! :) )

I also got an interview invitation from CUNY SPH this Monday. I also applied to the Temple, but I have not received anything from the Temple: no interview, no admission results.

I hope it goes well! good luck!!

What do you think about CUNY? I have heard many poor things about funding, but the program seems really interesting and fit for my career goals. I’m wondering what you’ve also heard about the program and what you think. At this point, it’s looking like my first choice, but I’m waiting to hear from other schools. 😕

Looking for updates from anyone who has applied to JH in the International Health Dept. or Mental Health Dept. Looks like a couple people have gotten interviews with Mental Health.

I have applied to JHU, Yale, and Brown ... PHD social and behavioral sciences.... I heard everyone isn't invited to interview if your application is strong enough you can get in without an interview

Has anyone heard back from any of the following schools:

Drexel, George Mason, Rutgers, Tulane, Pittsburgh, UMaryland, Texas A&M, Northeastern, UMass Amherst? (SBS/Health Education/Population Health/Community Health)

So far, I’ve only heard back from CUNY and Buffalo for interviews, and Temple and UT Houston (rejections)

I was reading the past threads from last year and it seems that people heard back from these schools roughly around this time (although I know the comparison is not very accurate). Just trying to ease my worries and know if I’ve been soft rejected.

Good luck to everyone else, the waiting is NOT easy😮‍💨

I also applied to JHU International Health, particularly the health systems stream. I have heard nothing yet.

This is true. I had someone from Brown admissions share this info with me.

For anyone waiting on SUNY Buffalo, I heard there was a faculty meeting with the Community Health and Health Behavior department on Friday 1/31. So you might hear back pretty soon.

Hi! I also applied for this program (CHHP) and am debating the same thing. I think I would be a great fit (I love the faculty mentor that I talked to, the program lends well to my research goals). But I am also definitely wondering about funding. Interestingly, during my interview we talked about how the majority of PhD students in the program are part-time and work another full-time job on top of that, and I think that's how a lot of people afford to do the program. It sounds like a lot though and if I were to be accepted, I'd want to talk to more students about how they are able to manage that. But anyways, if we are both accepted then I'd love to chat more during the decision-making process.

Also regarding this:

I did hear back from one prof at Drexel (Comm Health) and we have an interview scheduled for later this week. But I heard directly from that professor so I think they are scheduling their own interviews and might be going at different paces.

Hi! I’d love to also chat more about CUNY when the time comes. My intention is to enroll as a full time student, so hopefully they have TA and GRA/RA opportunities along with funding, as I can’t see myself working full time along with being a student.

And congratulations about the Drexel interview! I’m rooting for you this week! It’s a really great program. Here’s hoping I get some good news too🤞🏾

Yes for sure, that would be ideal for me too! I hope they have good opportunities like that too, otherwise I feel like it would take forever to finish the program 😭

And thank you! That’s so kind :) Wishing the best for you as well!!!! 🥰🤞🏼

I haven't heard back from Northeastern or UMass Amherst either (same programs). From experience last year, Northeastern can get back to you super later depending on how they match you with a mentor -- they sent me an interview invite on I think March 15 last year...

The wave of rejections this week hurts :'-)

At least I got one interview last month.

Same here. I keep trying to think back to my interviews, maybe there’s hope for the both of us 🤞🏾

Another week ends with no word from the programs I applied to. No rejections, no interviews, just silence. Trying not to get too disheartened.

Applied to JH International Health? I haven't heard from them either. Do you know anyone who actually received any confirmation for interviews?

Yes, I applied to JH International Health. I don't know of anyone who has received any confirmation for interviews with them. Waiting is so agonizing!
