Here are some general interview questions I have been asked, every. single. time.

They will also start with asking for a quick overview of yourself so I wrote out a general elevator speech of who I am and how it led me to prep

- Why PREP? What do you most want to get out of this program?

- Have you had research experience? (if you say yes) What did you do and find from the research.

- Have you had good mentorships before? What made that relationship successful? What do you look for in a mentor

- How have you responded to a hard situation during your undergad?

- What do you expect your greatest challenges to be in grad school?

-"what will you bring to the PREP cohort",

- "where do you see yourself after your PhD"

- "what specific skills do you hope to gain from PREP"

- Make sure to look at the faculty as they will ask if you have any in mind

- They will ask what specific research you are interested in

etc etc

Glad to find the one for this year!

I've applied to UNC, Johns Hopkins, UMD, and UChicago. Ive already been rejected from UNC and John's Hopkins, haven't heard back from Chicago or Maryland yet. Marylands application was due way back in January and i have yet to hear anything at all so I'm assuming rejection unless no one else has heard anything. And of course i still haven't heard from Chicago since they extended their deadline by a week. I did submit awhile ago and thought they were doing rolling admissions but I'm not sure anymore. Good luck to everyone who applied!

Since rejected from JHU, Duke, UMass, Columbia, UNC, and Mt. Sinai. Only have Vanderbilt and CU left and possibly the NIH, but apparently they have a hiring freeze since Congress can't do their jobs and pass a budget...thanks Congress

Hi everyone. I applied to NIH PREP programs at…

CU Anschutz

Duke

JHU

UT-San Antonio

Rochester University

Albert Einstein

Yale University

So far JHU rejected me and Duke waitlisted me after an interview. I’ve also had interviews with UT- San Antonio and U of Rochester, but I’m still waiting to hear back. Somebody please boost my confidence… I’m so scared that I may not get in anywhere. Anyone heard anything from these schools?

But they have rolling admissions I wonder if they already accepted some of their cohort

real, its just odd bc I emailed them on the 27th and they said that they will start looking at applications and sending out interviews in the next "few weeks" but they also extended the time to get letters of rec so i rlly don't know, I may email them to get an update because i rather be declined than wait lol
