PrettyPinkPunk Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 There are so many options out there and was wondering if anyone knows of any well funded art history master's programs as of 2024? Also how do I got about investigating colleges that aren't expensive/ fund well?
dcg955 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Definitely check out the University of Florida's program. The website is kind of unruly, but after contacting a faculty member I was told that MA students in Art History are basically guaranteed full funding. The stipend is apparently somewhat less than what those in the PhD program get, but you don't have to pay anything.
west-coast Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 UC Davis also has an excellent MA program that is fully funded. You get a stipend and teach right off the bat! I would highly recommend checking it out. It may be hard to investigate which school provide funding, but you can typically find the language on the art history department websites. Also reading through the application threads on this forum might have some good schools to check out!
wemberly02 Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 From my knowledge, there are a couple schools that have fully/mostly funded MAs in Art History based on the topic you're interested in. An MA from the Syracuse Florence program is fully or partially funded, but the focus is Renaissance/Early Modern art. I also think that Tulane and Case Western are fully or partially funded.
