I'm planning to apply to sociology or polisci phd programs, and my gre writing score is 4.0. I gathered that some top programs require a 4.5, so I'm a bit worried. Is this score enough(my verbal and quant scores are absolutely enough)? Should I request a score review? Many thanks!

I wonder how it goes... I'm also worried about this. Do you think it matter?

I think a writing score of 4.0 is okay for most graduate programs, maybe it's more preferable to focus on other application materials, for example the essays, writing samples, etc rather than trying to scrape 0.5 point in the writing section . . . Also, I don't think that GRE or any standardized tests really matter much for PhD admissions, doing a PhD is about doing research, not to demonstrate your test-taking abilities. Just my two cents, if it's of any help!
