Urban Planning Admissions 2025

Hey everyone, I am creating a thread for the 2025 Urban Planning application cycle! I am personally applying to programs in the U.S. and UK and awaiting to hear back (likely February-March). If anyone wants to share their experiences or questions we can all chat here.

I’ve applied to six MURP programs across the US, and now it’s just a matter of waiting and hoping for the best. Fingers crossed!

Anyone else still waiting on decisions? I applied to several programs this cycle and haven’t heard anything yet. Is it just me or are the decisions taking longer than usual this year?

Anyone else apply to/waiting on Canadian planning schools? (U of C, U of A, U of T, UBC, SFU, Guelph, U of M, VIU etc.)

I've only heard back from programs in the UK so far, not any in the U.S.! Hope the wait ends soon for all of us but it seems like most programs in the U.S. release later in spring.

I applied to 10 masters programs in the US this year! So far only heard back from one (2/5 Rutgers acceptance), but hanging on tight for the rest.

Has anyone heard back yet from any of the Canadian universities? I've applied to UofT, TMU and York but still waiting!

Applied only to UT Austin MCRP, and was accepted on 2/26!

3.78 GPA, sociology undergrad from t10 public university, graduated 2021

Anxiously waiting on any funding information 🤠

does anyone know if TMU and UofT are still sending out acceptances for their planning programs? Got accepted to Yorks planning program but waiting for these two to get back to me!

I applied to Canadian schools and I got into TMU and Waterloo so far, but haven't heard from UofT or McGill!

Can I ask when you got accepted to TMU and what the deadline is to accept the offer by? I think I’m on the waitlist so that’s why I’m trying to find out!!

I got accepted just over a month ago and had to accept within 10 days! I applied before the initial deadline, if that's helpful to know

Is everyone committed to a school or are some of you still waiting? With the funding situation up in the air, I feel so behind.

You’re definitely not alone. I’m sure there are still plenty of people waiting on funding, final offers, or making decisions between schools. With everything uncertain, it’s completely understandable to feel behind. Try not to compare your timeline to everyone else’s—these decisions can take time, especially when funding is involved.
