Philosophy PhD Admissions Results for Fall 2025

Hello, ladies and gents,

I thought we should have a place to discuss our results and (likely) decisions. (No melodrama or vitriol, please!)

I'm currently waitlisted at Yale and wondering if any of those accepted expect to decline. I will likely decline an offer from UW-Madison eventually, though I plan to visit before making up my mind.

I'll probably go to Princeton. I've already declined UW Madison's offer, and I predict I'll decline UNC's and Notre Dame's offers before the April 15 deadline (though I'm going to visit before making up my mind). If you're a LEMMing waitlisted at UNC or Notre Dame, take heart!

Also, for those of you whose application cycles were disappointing: this is my third time applying to philosophy PhD programs, and I got absolutely decimated the first two times (think: rejected outright by programs that weren't even in the top 50). It's not over 'til you say it's over!

Got accepted into my top choice for MA program, so I'm pretty happy - waiting on the top choice for my PhD program. Hopefully they accept me, but if not, I have a lesser PhD offer and a top MA offer to choose between. Can't complain! And can't complain about the 0 rejections thus far

May I ask which PhD programs you've been admitted to?

I've been admitted to Western's PhD program, but I'm waiting on UofT's decision.
