Not this year, but applied three times and about five programs each time.

Question about MA admissions - one of my LORs was a few days late, so the school removed them and marked my application as complete in order to review it (understandable, as I’m sure it’s better to start reviewing as early as possible). Will it seriously hurt my chances to have one less letter than other applicants? Would it be worth it to ask my recommender to send it a different way? I’m very grateful they didn’t mark it as incomplete and refuse to review it, but I’m still worried about having fewer letters…

I applied to only one school: University of Arizona, MA in Classical Philology. I hope they like me, but I may be too old for their ideal applicant. 50 years.

The fact that they marked the application as complete in order to review it suggests to me that missing one LoR would not be a huge issue. Otherwise they would be wasting their own time to review the app. Of course, having another good LoR is always a plus. It wouldn't hurt to reach out to the Department to see if you can still submit it somehow.

Both in my personal experience and talking to some faculty members, age is really not an issue. If anything, having life experience and the maturity it brings is a plus, even if a small one.

Princeton's prospective student visit will be in early March. So I assume they are either at the tail end of interviews or in the middle of final deliberations. Don't quote me though. 😄

Hi everyone! I hope this admissions cycle is going well for all of you. I’m wondering whether anyone has received an acceptance from the UBC MA program this year. I’m an international applicant to the ACRE master’s program, and I was told that the first round of acceptances has already been sent out, and that they are currently finalizing the waitlist. Has anyone heard from them yet? I would also really appreciate any information about the program or about how the admissions process typically unfolds, since there seems to be very little information about UBC on GradCafe. Sorry I don't have the answer. Have you tried Reddit (r/grandad missions). It's a lot more active. Best of luck!

Received my acceptance from the University of Arizona two days ago. MA program, no funding. Guess I have to pay out of pocket.

Thank you so much! I posted on reddit but still there is no answer for that. I am trying to reach out directly to the admission office again and see what they would respond.

I'm sorry about the lack of funding. I thought the MA at Arizona was fully funded. Still, congratulations on the acceptance! That's awesome! 😀
