I know the official FAQ says they interview a shortlist of applicants, but I'm wondering — is it pretty much over if you didn't get an interview invitation? Has anyone been admitted without going through an interview? Any insight would be really appreciated!

Everyone who was there for an orientation during interviews was told by the current head of admission (DGS) that he would send all decisions at the same exact time. Take that for what you will! They invited a few applicants, including myself, to visit this Monday. I'm for sure accepting my offer, but I think several of the other prospectives are on the fence, so it's probably not too late for you if you're on the waitlist.

I'm not sure what your focus is but AMR seems to have been a targeted audience for them this application season.

My focus is religion and secularity in contemporary American society, so perhaps not what the committee was prioritizing
