Alice_in_Wonderland Posted February 26 Posted February 26 (edited) Hello everyone, I’m hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on the YDS interview process. I’m applying to the MAR program this year. The website notes that interviews are not required but are recommended, so after submitting my application, I emailed to ask how one might request an interview. Some time later, I received a link allowing me to schedule one. I know several people who were admitted without interviewing, so I’m trying to understand what role the interview typically plays. From what I understand, the interview appears to be conducted by an admissions staff member rather than faculty. Does that suggest it is primarily a fit or clarification conversation rather than an academic evaluation? Edited February 26 by Alice_in_Wonderland
yxlol Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Trying to look for information on this too and came across your post. I don't think I have a clear answer to that but I'd like to think it is more of an informal conversation than academic evaluation (I did talk to a current student and they do seem to emphasize fit a lot). If I remember correctly the results come out tomorrow and so... good luck!!! endlessspring and thunderplumpcollar 2
thunderplumpcollar Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I read this thread a couple of weeks ago and reached out to YDS about an interview (I had some questions about community and family life there), but didn't hear back. According to their website, decisions go out today, although it is a Sunday, so perhaps on Monday.
