Salvete,

I am a Classics student and the only Malaysian that I've know to be apart of this field of study. Does anyone know any other Classicists who are Malaysians? I'm just curious about this.

I know several Asian classicists. No idea if they're specifically Malaysian.

As do I during the last APA/AIA meeting. But most of them are Asian American. I only know two off the top of my head who are originally from China.

I'm just interested in knowing whether there are anyone from my home-country who would do something as borderline insane/disastrous as what I'm currently doing.

St. John's College in Santa Fe has an "Eastern Classics" graduate program. Students have the option to learn Sanskrit or Classical Chinese. Maybe you'll have luck finding Malaysians there.

There is a Burmese fellow in my Classics Post-Baccalaureate program who, I believe, did originally live in Burma/Myanmar and there is a another guy who is Chinese and came directly from China just for the program. Also, there were two Korean-American ladies in last year's program. So while I don't know any Malaysians, there are indeed people of Asian descent and some who grew up in their native land within the Classics field.
