thedragonbook Posted April 4, 2008 Share Posted April 4, 2008 Hi, I have got admits from Iowa State University and University of Utah for MS in Computer Science, Fall 2008. I am interested in compilers. Utah ranks at 39 and Iowa at 61 for Computer Science according to US News this year. However, when I talk to people I feel that Iowa has more reputation compared to Utah. Can you guys help me choose one ? Right now I am inclined towards Utah as it has more research on compilers compared to Iowa State. But I want to consider the overall reputation as I will have to take courses from other areas as well. Also, Utah does not have career fairs. Iowa does. Utah's higher ranking maybe because of its Computer Graphics program. Anybody else out there who is interested in compilers/programming languages ?
