Status so far:

UIUC statistics: they sent tons of offers (never sent any rejections), but never contacted me. I emailed them and they told me the files are still under review.

Chicago statistics: they sent tons of offers (never sent any rejections), but never contacted me. I emailed them and they told me my files are still under review.

Cornell statistics: they sent tons of offers and rejections, but never contacted me. I emailed them... and got no reply.

The wait is excruciating... what should I do to make the pain and anxiety go away?

I wish I knew the answer. All I can says is that I commiserate. I'm on two waitlists and I'm admitted with funding TBA to a third. It's awful! I probably won't know if I'm officially in and funded till at least April 15th! Man! I didn't realize I was going to have to wait that long. If I knew for sure that I was going SOMEWHERE it might be easier.

The wait is killing me too!! Coincidentally, I'm applying to statistics programs too, but not the same ones. I guess you're wait listed? I haven't had the guts to email my departments yet, I'm just waiting, waiting, waiting...

I guess its good that you haven't been rejected yet :)

The wait is really killing me because the longer I wait the higher chance my work won't hire me full time. Double screwed!

I am also suffering from this wait. Do you have to contact the school to find out you're waitlisted? Or do they contact you?

Sometimes they contact you sometimes they don't. If you've seen acceptances and rejections from your school go out and haven't heard anything, then it's probably a waitlist. It's best to check in with them to see what your status is.
