CMcG Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 who posted the acceptance to GMU? Please provide info. I was not that poster, but I got my acceptance to the PhD program on February 28 via snail mail. There were no funding details in the letter, but I talked to the graduate director. She said they are making funding decisions at the end of this week. It sounds like a small cohort (8, I think), and they can't fund everyone.

The main problem, from what I understand when it comes to the PhD program, was that when the school told the dept that they'd be creating a PhD program, the school did not give the Anthropology/Sociology Department any additional funds or leave to hire additional faculty to help with the load. Hence the funding issues for PhD students. I'll be here next semester and would love to actually have some kind of social interaction with other grad students on this bloody campus.
