Email professor (applications are being reviewed)

Ok, I'm thinking of emailing some professors at EPFL Computer Science program.

I think I've passed the first stage of their admission process, i.e., being eligible for professors to hire in a lab.

(Actually after this stage, applicants can also be awarded a fellowship, but I'm afraid I don't stand much a chance since it's already March 18th

and I haven't heard back from them).

The problem is that I indicated a POI in my SOP that did not fit my profile quite well. I'm also becoming more interested in another area, therefore other professors..

Should I email and ask these professors to consider my application or if they are hiring some PhD students?
