Meee Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I am so confused on which school to attend. Any one have input on either school? I am going for my masters in Speech Language Pathology, any insight on the program will be great!
gretel Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 I am so confused on which school to attend. Any one have input on either school? I am going for my masters in Speech Language Pathology, any insight on the program will be great! I was accepted at TC and waitlisted by NYU. My impression of NYU is that they are really trying to build up their reputation for research. That was something repeated again and again and again. Do you have your pre-reqs completed? I think if you don't you most likely spend the first year just doing pre-reqs. TC's program has an emphasis on bilingualism and multiculturalism. I'm going to visit the 15th, so I should have more of an impression then. I believe that TC has a better reputation than NYU among NY SLPs. The NYU program seems to be going through a transition and trying to find its direction--at least that's what I've heard and what my impression was.

I have my undergrad in communication disorder, butI think I still need a couple of pre-reqs from each school. I am trying to figure that out right now. I am into the research, but I also heard that NYU is transitioning (is this a good thing or bad thing?) I like how TC has an emphasis on bilingualism and multicilturalism, but if you are not bilingual is this a negative thing? Do you they give priority to those who are in the bilingual extension program?
Meee Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Anyone else have an input. I could really use some help here.
