shoegirl Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Hello, I am Japanese student who is waiting to hear back from Ryerson University's master of professional communication. graduate admission office told me that they were sending out letter of acceptance/rejection this week in the email sent in 21st March and I have not heard from them yet. to make thing worse, i found some blog that saying they called this student t who applied for exactly same program and notify their acceptance.... Do you think it is a bad sign???????=( Ryerson University is the only university i applied for and also I am a recipient of Rotary ambassadorial scholarship, therefore if i was rejected, i will not only rejected but lose fund...=( I am thinking about emailing them again if i diditn receive it tomorrow because it has been more than 10days and it should not take that long to send postal mail to canada to japan.... ugghhhhhhhhh I just feel aweful......=(

Sashide Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Erm, it took a WEEK for mail to get from Canada to the US... I was up in Canada to see my bf, mailed a postcard to US...didnt get here till a full week later =X. SO yes, Canada mail can be really slow!

everygirl Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 If they accepted a single student, that doesn't exactly mean first rounds have gone out and you have gotten on the waitlist. I call the accepting of a few students very early "extreme first round" -- the students with stellar, incredible, untouchable applications who get a call before anyone else because the schools know they have to hustle get those students first. After calling those students first, they might send out the 'real' first round. YMMV. Keep up hope! Your letter could just be in transit. I would still call or email the department, but keep waiting. It's only April, and Canadian schools can be slow.
