InquilineKea Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 So, the consequences of screwing up on the GRE test (which can happen for a variety of reasons) can be dangerous (we'd have to wait for at least yet another year). And since we get a 50% off discount if we test in between August and September, might we just as well register for it twice?

My general strategy for GRE is: take it once, get good enough score, and forget about it.
Tdearr Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 One thing to note is that with the new version of the GRE that will be given starting on August 1, you are only allowed to take the exam once every 60 days as opposed to the current GRE policy of once a month. If you are planning a retake, make sure you leave enough time on your calendar for 60 days between appointments. Best, Taylor

Best, Taylor Regarding the GRE reduction, you can only qualify for a GRE fee reduction once in your lifetime, right? Or can you qualify once for being a college senior / graduate and once as an unemployed person (for a total of 2 times in your life)? Thanks, Taylor. prolixity and truckbasket 2

To the best of my understanding you can only qualify once. However, if you want to be absolutely sure, the best thing to do would be to call ETS and double check the rule with them. Best, Taylor
