mate Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 First post. So, I've got funding (NSF GRFP) and hence take money out of the picture. I want to do research dealing with mammalian neural development and circuit formation. Which program would you suggest, Brandeis or Baylor College of Medicine (for Neuroscience)? It is very much important for me to have both quality publications and good mentors. I'm also mildly persuaded by good weather/location.

What is your definition of "good" weather? Texas (where Baylor is) is warm and it rarely snows in the winter, unlike Massachusetts. For me, I would prefer the later because I would like a colder weather. I live in a hot country and I would like to live some real, cold (preferably snowy) winters Otherwise, both places are comparable very good to study and to live.
oldfogey Posted April 22, 2011 Posted April 22, 2011 It really depends on the POI - what is her/his reputation? publications? funding? alumni - where they are and what they are doing. And most of all, with whom you can get a good vibe/lab mates you would enjoy working with. Neuronista 1
