kt36960 Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I was accepted into Columbia's film studies MA program but with basically no funding (except for loans). I know there are scholarships out there but most are for $1000 or $5000. How are people dealing with tuition? It's hard to believe that so many people would be able to afford this.
theatrehippie Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I'm in the same boat, but at TC. I'm still waiting to hear about scholarships, as well. I have been wondering if going to Columbia full time and living in New York without enormous scholarships is even feasible, if you don't happen to be independently wealthy.

Creesha Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 I'm having the same issue too. Columbia's programs are great but their funding sucks! I think people just pay for the name and deal with it after they graduate.

Especially since there are so many people and scholars saying that MAs aren't really worth anything.... Are you planning on going to the program? Do you think it will be worth it in the end?
