WmHooper Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 I was recently accepted into the PPIA fellowship program so I guess I am trying to figure out a little more about post-PPIA stats. There aren't many PPIA threads on here and I was wondering how Fellows did in the admissions process. I plan on going into my MPA/MPP straight out of undergrad and I wanted to see how much/if it hurt others. I also wanted to see what kind of funding PPIA fellows have received at various schools. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share publicly. Thanks.

I was a CMU PPIA Fellow and now I have received a great offer by CMU and other schools that I would have not gotten if it wasnt for the PPIA program.
fa-la-la-lena Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Also a PPIA fellow this year. According to the website Carnegie Mellon provides full tuition waivers and a $6K/year stipend for any PPIA fellow accepted into their MSPPM program. University of Michigan has Rackham merit awards that PPIA fellows are eligible to compete for (full tuition + a big stipend). And all PPIA consortium schools waive application fees/give you a minimum of 5K. I'm sure we'll receive assistance and advice as to how to go about applying for schools once we are in the program.

Hahahahaha "My name is _____ ______, I am from CHICAGO, IL" What a small world, I find a fellow CMU PPIA fellow on these forums I agree with this poster. I would not have gotten into most of the schools below without PPIA I think, and I DEFINITELY would not have gotten a penny at any of them without PPIA. Count your blessings, because depending on what you want career-wise, you could very likely have hit the jackpot and steered the course of your future with this fellowship.
