When to complete FAFSA

Would I be able to complete the FAFSA now for admission in either Fall 2011 or Spring 2012? Two of the programs I am interested in have rolling admissions, and I'd like to take a chance for enrollment in Fall 2011. If I can't get in, I definitely want to enroll in Spring 2012. Will I still qualify for an aid package for the Fall programs? Is it too late to complete the FAFSA now?

If the programs offer rolling admissions and you would still have a shot of applying and beginning coursework this Fall, then you should still be able to complete the FAFSA. You are definitely behind the eight ball on this, since grad programs have limited funding vis a vis undergrad programs, but you should still be able to complete it regardless. I would probably hold off a few months (maybe around August?) if you are planning to apply for Spring 2012 admission.

The priority deadline for FAFSA is in February. If you've missed that deadline, then you should file it as soon as possible. You should always file the FAFSA application as early as possible.

If I have three programs in mind, do I list each school code? Keep in mind that I have just begun each application. But my understanding is that the FAFSA should always be completed first, correct?

Do list each school code. Although, as a rule, it isn't always possible to do FAFSA first. I applied for Fall 2010, but the school application deadline was late 2009 (before the application for FAFSA 2010-2011 was available). The idea is to complete it as soon as possible. The order can sometimes be irrelevant.
