Did any of you PhD candidates in psychology first complete a terminal MA or MS in psychology? My Bachelor's is in English, so to prepare for psychology doctorate programs I am taking courses at my local community college and volunteering in a university psych lab. I'm also planning on applying to a terminal Master's program in psychology to make myself a more desirable doctoral candidate. Has this track worked for anyone out there? If so, would you mind sharing where you did the terminal Master's and where you went on for your PhD? I would be so grateful for any insight you can share!

There are responses about this on this thread...

and here's a list of come Master's programs...

I'm just a psych undergrad but I'm guessing this might be a good idea for you... What area of psych are you interested in? It might be especially useful if you could get into a Master's program in that area of psych specifically.

Good luck!
