anyonymous5002 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I'm a continuing student who received the OGS for the 2011-12 academic year. For personal reasons, I'm planning to leave (i.e., drop out of) my graduate program after the fall semester. If I accept the award, I'm assuming that I will get the $5k for the fall. Would I have to pay this back if I leave? Or will they just cancel future payments? Thanks.
lewin Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 (edited) Look under terms of study on that link: You are not eligible if your program length is one term (this includes any change to the program length that results in a one term period of study for the current application). I bet there's a good chance you'll have to repay your OGS. (edit to remove comment -- missed that you're a continuing student) Edited June 7, 2011 by lewin00
anyonymous5002 Posted June 27, 2011 Author Posted June 27, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I think you are correct. However, I just realized that I can hold the award ("retroactively") starting from May 2011, so that should do it!
