speechless_siren Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 This is a master program focusing on how human react to and manege the info drew from radar system and how this radar system could be improved..... It's kinda a research about human factors in an air traffic situation. so what I want to know is, where is the career? I dont want to work at labs for the rest of my life, so to where can this major lead me? Is there a wide job market for it? i'd appreciate any of your advices/opinions.......
lyonessrampant Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 There is a huge demand for air traffic controllers (the actual people in the tower) because over 50% of the workforce consists of baby boomers who are retiring now and in massive numbers over the next few years. As far as the research positions go, I have no idea, but the training for research and actually working in the towers is pretty different. . .so I don't think you could go from a program like you're describing to working at, say, Dulles airport.
