DrPH...Is there light at the end of the tunnel ?

Dear friends,

Have a request here as I am genuinely lost at the moment..

Allow me to elaborate.

I am interested in the field of Public Health.

Been working in CDC division here in Malaysia past 3 years, focused in the field of Airborne Infections esp Tuberculosis Control in the Ministry Of Health.

The current requirement here in Malaysia is to complete the MPH and continue with the DrPH programme in order to be recognized as a Public Health Specialist within the Ministry Of Health, Malaysia.

Therin lies the problem.

I have successfully obtained my MPH nad am currently in the second year of my DrPH..

The administrators over here, both in The Ministry Of Health as well as the University I am enrolled in have no clear idea of what criteria is involved in obtaining a reputable DrPH degree at the moment.

You could say that my batch of candidates are..in a way..the guinea pigs for this new plan of direction fofr future public health specialists here in Malaysia.

Anyway..

I am hoping that anyone out there can shed some light into :

What are the criteria for me to conduct a study that would be adequate to qualify for the status of a DrPH ?

My interests are in the field of tuberculosis in Prisons, an area of public health that has the least amount of attention given here in Malaysia.

Please help a fella out here lads and ladies...

Thank you,

Aldrin
